Hey there, it looks like you are in search of massage and health & wellness info. Here’s my background in a nutshell.
WHO ARE MY CLIENTS?
Most of my clients have desk jobs and suffer from chronic neck/back pain, and headaches. Or they have physical jobs and spend long hours on their feet. Working with these clients have honed my skills and treatments to ease their key areas of tension.
HOW DID I BECOME AN RMT?
In the beginning, I went to school for advertising & event planning. I ended up landing a marketing coordinator position after graduation. While I enjoyed the work, it wasn’t for me. All through high school my gut was telling me to become an RMT. Anatomy fascinated me and I have always been a “helper” in all aspects of my life, so it seemed like a good fit. But, back then I was a typical teen girl, I was more into socializing than schoolwork. My science marks weren’t awesome, which is a must to get into massage therapy programs. Because of this I chose my second pick, advertising. A few years later, I was still thinking about becoming an RMT. So I took the plunge and I haven’t looked back. Going back to school as a mature student for this program was the best decision I could have made for my career. I graduated with honours from the Massage Therapy Program at Georgian College in Barrie. In 2009, I became registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
WHO AM I AS A THERAPIST?
Fast forward 7 years later, I have a thriving massage practice. Since then, I was awarded Grey & Bruce’s Favourite Registered Massage Therapist. Massage Therapy Canada Magazine also interviewed me on social media marketing strategies for massage practices. I have also received extra training in kinesiology taping, therapeutic ultrasound, aromatouch, and myofascial release. I focus on empowering my clients by educating and involving them in the creation of their treatment plan. Living an organic and green lifestyle is important to me. Because of this I incorporate these values into my massage practice. My clinic has adopted an online/paperless software to reduce waste. Additionally, I use high quality organic oils & environment friendly products within the clinic.
WHO AM I AS A PERSON?
I live in Owen Sound with my husband and two fur babies. My free time includes hiking our local trails and volunteering at the Grey & Bruce Animal Shelter. Recently, I have discovered my love for gardening (I’m still a rookie). Geeking out on documentaries and anything massage related takes me to my happy place. So does chilling & watching Golden Girls marathons. Now that we’re acquainted, if you feel I’m the therapist for you, you can request an appointment. Let’s get started working together to help you feel better.
